Export Terms Explained
- FSSAI License
- FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) is the Indian regulator that authorises food businesses to manufacture, store, and export food products. A valid FSSAI license is mandatory for any agri exporter shipping edible goods from India.
- APEDA Registration
- APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) is the Indian government body that registers and supports exporters of scheduled agricultural products. APEDA registration is required for exporting items such as cereals, oil seeds, and processed foods.
- Phytosanitary Certificate
- A phytosanitary certificate is an official document issued by the plant protection authority of the exporting country, confirming that a plant-based consignment is free from quarantine pests and complies with the importing country's plant-health regulations.
- Gangsaw Slab
- A gangsaw slab is a large-format granite slab cut from a quarry block by a gangsaw machine, typically measuring 260–320 cm in length and 160–200 cm in width, used for kitchen countertops and architectural cladding.
- FCL (Full Container Load)
- FCL refers to a shipment that fills an entire shipping container, with the cargo belonging to a single consignee. FCL is the standard mode for bulk agri and stone exports because it reduces handling and contamination risk.
Why source agri produce and granite from India?
India is the world's largest producer of pulses, milk, and spices, and a top-three producer of rice, wheat, sugarcane, cotton, and groundnut. According to the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), India exported over USD 50 billion of agri and processed food products in FY 2023–24. This scale gives buyers consistent availability and competitive pricing.
On the stones side, India is the second-largest exporter of granite globally. The Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) reports more than 300 commercially active granite varieties, with Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu producing the deep-black and galaxy stones most valued in international markets.
Satvaexport works directly with farmer collectives and quarry owners. By removing intermediaries, buyers receive material at origin pricing. Every consignment ships with a third-party lab report and a pre-shipment inspection certificate.
How does the Satvaexport order process work?
- Inquiry. Buyer shares product, grade, quantity, port of discharge, and target Incoterm. We respond with a CIF or FOB quote within 24 hours.
- Sample & contract. A 200–500 g agri sample or A4 stone swatch is couriered. After approval, a sales contract is signed with packing, payment, and delivery terms.
- Production & inspection. Material is cleaned, graded, and packed in our partner facility. A third-party agency (SGS, Bureau Veritas, or Intertek) inspects on request.
- Shipping. Container is stuffed under CCTV, sealed, and trucked to port. We issue commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, and certificate of origin.
- Delivery & support. Scanned documents go to the buyer the day the vessel sails. Originals follow by courier. Our team supports clearance queries at destination.
